Copper-1
The
specimen has a mass of interconnected,
rounded crystals of copper. One side has a lot of a copper
mineral,
probably malachite, delightful color
contrast, very fine. 7.5 cm (3 inches) tall, with a nice little stand
that sets it upright.
These copper crystals are from the world famous Central Mine. Here is a
great opportunity to add some choice copper
crystals to your collection. The Central was one of the greatest
fissure mines that opened in the Michigan Mining District. It operated
from 1854 to 1898 and produced over 50 million pounds of copper.
