Ontario Gem Amethyst Mine shop after driving a few kilometers on a dirt
This is the entrance to the Ontario Gem
The miner's house and shop is behind Greg.
The mine is a quarry cut into a low hill
about .5 km
behind the shop.
The working level of the quarry. Specimens are coming from
in the back right of the picture,
where hydrothermal veins cut through the granite. The mineral
includes amethyst quartz, fluorite,
barite, calcite, sphalerite and galena. The very rare and
association of yellow fluorite on
amethyst occurs here.

Packaging: All specimens will be shipped
with extreme care. Specimens are wrapped in thin plastic, then cotton,
then newspaper secured with rubber bands. Shredded paper is used for
in the shipping box. With extremely heavy or extremely fragile
double boxing may be used. Specimens will arrive intact!
